It is also part of Churches Together in Elland and District.

The church is available for Weddings and Baptisms (Christenings). For more information contact our Minister.

Founded in the 18th Century by John and Charles Wesley, The Methodist Church is a mainstream Protestant Church with emphasis on the religion of personal experience with a strong social outreach.

CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

It is with sadness that we have to inform you that, following advice from the government and The Methodist Church, all services, meetings and other events at church are cancelled until further notice. This is with the exception of the Food Bank.

The church was open on Sunday morning 21st March for private prayer and reflection. However, current advice from The Methodist Church is that churches should be kept closed so this will not be repeated.

If you wish to use a worship at home sheet, they are available here

Also Wesley's Chapel in London are live-streaming worship, adapted for no physical congregation. This includes Morning Prayer at 10.00 a.m. each day except Sunday. Times of other services vary. See their website. These services are available here

Picture of Southgate Christian Centre Entrance

Southgate Christian Centre is adjacent to the church building.

In 2008 it was refurbished internally to provide a modern suite of premises. The refurbishment was completed in 2012 when a new entrance was constructed. It is used not only by our own Fellowship Groups and Youth Organisations but by many local organisations, and hosts Social Events.

The buildings are fully accessible to the disabled, and rooms are available for hire as a venue for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, parties etc.
